How Are We Protecting You & Your Loved Ones From COVID-19?

  •  Community Immunity

  • We see patients with all sorts of abilities and challenges, and we are not about to risk the lives of our patients who cannot mount a strong immune response to a vaccine.  We therefore take every pecaution to minimize risk of spread of COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 in our clinic.  This also helps protect our staff and prevent clinic closures.

  •  Recent mRNA Vaccination Required

  • We diligently follow data on COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness, drawing on knowledge from neuroimmunology, viral delivery of gene therapy, and clinical experience with long COVID. Put simply: you don’t want to get (another) infection with this and risk the wellbeing of your family. All patients are therefore required to have had a completed 2-shot series or booster in the last 6 months. It is quite clear that Johnson & Johnson’s DNA vaccine does not protect against Omicron, so if you received this, you will need an mRNA booster at least 1 week before treatment. Omicron boosters are coming, and you can count on our policy to be updated in realtime to require boosters as soon as it is practical.

  •  N95 or well-fitting KN95 masks are required

  • It is clear that good masks, N95s or KN95s that make a good air seal, are the most effective intervention to prevent spread to vulnerable people in our community. All who enter, including those providing transportation to patients, are required to wear a high grade mask. We have a supply of the most comfortable N95s around and are happy to provide you and your driver with one.

  •  Fresh Air is Key to Prevention

  • We have known for over 100 years, since the 1918 flu pandemic, that clean air is a must for safety.  Rigorous studies in the COVID era show that HEPA filters centered in the room—intercepting germs before they reach another person—are key to putting this pandemic behind us. We have high quality filters from BluAir in every room of our treatment center. These take care of the germs, so you can breathe easily.

  •  Ultraviolet Sanitization

  • Ultraviolet light is like kryptonite to the DNA or RNA of any living being.  These fancy blacklights essentially melt DNA together and can break the RNA blueprints of coronaviruses into pieces. All equipment used for patient care is sanitized with UV lights to ensure that COVID is not transmitted through our staff or our clinic.
